摘 要
阅读是人类日常生活中一项十分普遍的活动，它的发展对于民众素质的提升以及社会文明的进步都有着极大的推动作用。汉代作为中国古代第一个真正实现了大一统的王朝，其政治、经济、文化、思想以及教育较先秦时期都有了较大的发展。学术界针对汉代社会的主流学术与思想已经作出过十分深入的研究，但对于基层民众的文化生活却关注甚少。本文拟从各类流传于世的汉代书籍与画像材料入手，结合史籍的相关记载，对汉代不同阶层之人阅读的能力、目的、偏好以及阅读对于汉代社会所产生的影响进行系统论述与分析。全文一共分为四章：
第一章是对汉代不同阶层的读者进行分析，主要从他们的教育程度、文化水平等角度出发，结合出土的一些简帛材料，从而对他们阅读的手段、目的、能力以及特点进行相关探讨。
第二章是对汉代社会所流传的各家各派之书籍进行系统梳理。笔者将通过整理史籍、简帛以及碑刻等各种材料，对各类书籍在汉代社会的传播情况进行总结。其中，对于比较重要的各类儒家经典还将单独列表并加以分析，希望以此说明不同书籍在不同时期、不同地区是如何传播阅读的。
第三章是从汉代画像材料中的讲经图、讲学图出发，具体地考察汉代读书人的形象以及不同地区的阅读场景。另外，笔者还将把汉代画像材料的内容和榜题相结合，对汉代人阅读的选择与偏好作出进一步的分析。最后笔者将以着名的汉代武氏祠画像为例，具体分析画像题材内容之中所反映的读书风气。
第四章笔者将分别考察汉代统治阶级与基层民众对于阅读和学习的不同态度，并且结合史料加以分析，希望借此体现阅读对汉代的相关制度与社会风气产生了怎样的影响。
通过以上对汉代各阶层读者情况的概述以及对各类书籍传播情况的总结，我们可以清楚地了解到汉代社会对于读书学习是十分重视的。另外，阅读在维护政权稳定和提高民众素质等方面也都起到了关键性的作用。

ABSTRACT
Reading is a common activity in our daily life, its development playsan very important role in promoting both the quality and culture of ourpeople and society. As the first dynasty to realize truly unity of the wholecountry in ancient history, the politic, economy, culture, thought andeducation of Han Dynasty had achieved big improvements comparedwith former periods. The academia has made deep researches on themajor academics and thoughts of the Han Dynasty, but only few of themfocus on the cultural life of those common people in the grass-root society.
This competition will discuss and analyze the ability, target andpreference towards reading activities among different classes of the HanDynasty by combining all kinds of books, portrait stones and historicalrecords together which were broadcast widely in the society. The wholecompetition has four chapters:
Chapter one is going to analyze the readers from different classes.
We will discuss their ability of reading, how to read, why were they readand the features of reading from the angle of the level of their educationand knowledge with some bamboo materials which were found byhistorians.
Chapter two is going to arrange all kinds of books spread in the HanDynasty. We will search the historical records, bamboo material andtablets to summarize the spread of different books in the Han Dynasty.The spread of some important Confucian classics will be listed in tabularforms to analyze. From the summary we can see how did those booksspread at different periods and places.
Chapter three is going to analyze the image of readers and the scenesof reading in the Han Dynasty from some pictures of the portrait stones.
Besides, we will combine the topics with the contents of portrait stones tosee which kind of books did the people in the Han Dynasty prefer to read.
At the end of this chapter, we will give an example of the portrait stonesin Wu Liang Temple to show how do the portrait stones reflect thereading in the Han Dynasty.
The last chapter we will investigate the attitude of both the upperclass and the grass-root class towards reading and studying through thehistorical records. After the investigation, we can see how did readingactivity influence the institutions and change the general mood of thesociety.
From the summary and analysis of the four chapters, we know thatreading was universal in the Han Dynasty, people loved reading andstudying very much. Reading's key functions of maintaining the stabilityof a country and uplifting the quality of people will also be understoodafter the investigation.
